The spa is situated on foot of the mountains Varful cu Dor ( Longing Peak), Furnica and Piatra Arsa on 800-900 m, on the superior valley of Prahovei river, on 122 km from Bucharest and 49 km from Brasov. In the east part of the spa is situated Garbova Mountains and in west we find the massive Bucegi Mountains with tops of 2000 m surroundings the spa with 9 km length. The many natural reservations, the special landscapes make from Sinaia a very searched spa especialy for foreign tourists. At the end of the XIX. century , after I.Carol King established his sommer residence in Peles Castle, Sinaia became a luxury spa. The castle became the main attraction of the area, in present there is a museum which include collection of painting, sculpture, armours and piece of the furniture with unestimate value. Other attractions of the spa are : Pelisor Castle (a copy of the Peles Castle with reduced dimensions in near of its), Sinaia Monastier, the casino and many buildings which conferred an unic imagine of the spa. In the winter, the skiing tracks with cable transport offer for the tourists entertainment possibility with various and difficult degrees. In sommer exist other attractions like: fishing, swimming, tennis, foot travels and hiking, the area well-knowing with many picturesque landscapes and places. In the evening discos, restaurants with traditional courses, and the casino where are presented cabaret shows, wait for everyone who need amusement. In Sinaia you could find also: cinemas, museums and exhibitions. Sinaia could be a starting travel point to Brasov (an important medieval city in Transilvania), Bran Castle or Prahova Valley and foot travels to Piatra Arsa-Pestera-Padina, Omu and Babele peaks(important monuments which was created by winds and rainings).
